Traditionally, this fabric was only used and worn by royalty and the most wealthy but over the years many new variations of the original have been developed.

Shantung can almost appear flowing, and creates the “happy-medium” between a drapey silk charmeuse and a stiff silk dupion / taffeta.

It is a perfect and lustrous fabric for dressmaking, including Bridalwear, Evening Dresses, Prom Dresses and Lingerie.

It is also used a lot by our clients for Home Furnishings. This fabric has a great feel for cushions, curtains, table runners or used for special occasions.

However every day we find our customers purchasing this range for many new purposes.
